MI had a chance to win the game as they only needed six runs on 6 balls in the Super Over, but Mohammed Shami restricted them to just five runs. Ultimately, KXIP topped MI in the second Super Over to take the victory. With the loss, MI remained in second position in the 2020 IPL points table with six wins from nine matches and a healthy NRR of +1,201.
KXIP jumped from last place to sixth place in the 2020 IPL points table with the victory over MI, as they now have six points from nine matches.
KKR is fourth with ten points from nine games after a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad continue in fifth place with six points.
