MS Dhoni and Piyush Chawla can get along very well both on and off the field, but they are having a battle of their own in the CSK network sessions. After Dhoni hit a massive six off Chawla in CSK’s first practice session in Dubai on Friday before IPL 2020, the player who spun the leg went back to the CSK captain by cleaning him up on Saturday.
It was a flatter delivery, which was straight with the arm and Dhoni made the mistake of going backwards. He was late to put the bat down in time when the ball slipped to disturb the wood.

The battle was not over. It never is with Dhoni. The former India captain took guard again, playing some reliable shots off Jadeja before throwing another big six off Chawla.
Dhoni has had a very good touch in training. There were no signs of rust despite being away from competitive cricket for over a year.
Also at CSK’s five-day camp in Chennai before leaving for Dubai, Dhoni looked his best, according to CSK CEO Kashi Visawanathan.

Meanwhile, Chawla, an IPL veteran, will seek to fill the void of veteran Harbhajan Singh. The third highest wicket bearer in the IPL had decided to lose this year’s IPL due to personal reasons.
CSK’s other top hitters, Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu also had a good hit on Saturday.
All will be gearing up for September 19 after it was confirmed that CSK will face the defending champions the Mumbai Indians at the opening of the curtain in Abu Dhabi.
CSK plays most of its matches in Dubai (7), followed by Abu Dhabi (4) and Sharjah (3).
