Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has stepped up their preparations as the 13th The Indian Premier League (IPL) season is coming up. CSK had posted a video clip of captain MS Dhoni hitting a ball outside the park during a practice match on Friday and on Saturday, Dhoni was seen alongside Ravindra Jadeja and two other members of Camp CSK during a training session. Dhoni and Jadeja were padded and had their batting gloves intact, indicating that they had been hitting some. “Super morning lions!” this is how CSK captioned the image.

CSK’s training was delayed by a series of positive COVID-19 cases at their camp and, as a result, they had to serve a lengthy quarantine.

However, one of the two players who tested positive, Deepak Chahar, has rejoined the team after testing negative and serving his quarantine period.

CSK is also missing two of its most experienced players, including its most capped player, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh. Both players withdrew from IPL 2020 for personal reasons.

CSK could be beefed up soon as all-star off-roader Dwayne Bravo is likely to join the team in the United Arab Emirates. Bravo had been playing with Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the 2020 Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which concluded on Thursday.

CSK will begin their IPL campaign against the defending champions and the team that defeated them in the 2019 IPL final, Mumbai Indians, on September 19 in Abu Dhabi.

The league will be played in three cities in the United Arab Emirates: Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, with the final being played on November 10.
