IPL 2020: MS Dhoni explains the reasons for CSK’s fourth loss of the season – cricket

After a resounding 10 wicket beating over Kings XI Punjab, it seemed the Chennai Super Kings were back doing what they do best, but a 10-run loss to Kolkata Knight Riders has once again left the three-time champions behind. CSK was right to stop KKR at 167, but the batting unit couldn’t come together without anyone except Shane Watson (50) and to some extent Ambati Rayudu (30), making no significant contribution.

“In the middle of the overs, there was a phase where they threw two or three good overs. Then we lost windows. If our hitting was different during that period, the result would have been different. Initially we gave away too many with the new ball. Karn did very well, ”captain MS Dhoni said after the match.

Dwayne Bravo emerged as a star with the ball collecting 3/37, as KKR was out for 167, with Rahul Tripathi leading scorer with 81 of 51 balls. The CSK hitters in the middle just couldn’t get off the ground. Dhoni was promoted to No. 4 but was defeated by Varun Chakravarthy. Kedar Jadhav looked in a bad mood scoring 7 of 12 balls, and although Ravindra Jadeja hit 21 of 8 balls, it was not enough to save CSK.

“The bowlers were right to cut it down to 160, but the batsmen disappointed the bowlers. In the end, there were no limits and you have to be a bit innovative in these scenarios. If someone is bowling right behind a pitch, you have to find a way to push the limits, ”Dhoni said.
