The Mumbai Indians will play in the all-important final against the capitals of Delhi on Tuesday, but before heading to the summit clash, there were some concerns regarding Trent Boult’s spearhead. The left arm fast thrower had suffered a groin injury in the first Qualifier against Delhi Capitals, which MI won by 57 runs. In the match, Boult gave IM a fantastic start on the ball, firing starter Prithvi Shaw for a duck on the second ball, and then catching Ajinkya Rahane three balls later.
Boult posted 9/2 in his 2 overs, but was seen leaving the field afterwards. Despite Delhi hitting 20 full overs, the Kiwi closure did not return to attack to throw the remaining overs.

Now, a day before the final, Rohit responded to a question posed by the Hindustan Times at the pre-game virtual press conference about Boult’s injury and the IM captain said the player is expected to play on Tuesday.
“Trent looks pretty good. Today he will have a session with all of us, he has recovered quite well in the last two days. So, fingers crossed, I hope he plays, ”Sharma said.
In 14 games this season, Boult has collected 22 wickets in 14 games with an average of 19.40 and is currently in third position on the list of top wicket receivers for the season, behind only Kagiso Rabada of Delhi Capitals (29 ) and his IM teammate Jasprit Bumrah (27).
