IPL 2020 LIVE SCORE, KKR vs MI Match: Rohit, Suryakumar help Mumbai accelerate after early shakeup

IPL 2020 LIVE SCORE, Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians latest updates: All right, Pat Cummins, KKR’s big buy, is here. He starts off with a wide and then a six hit from Rohit’s first ball through his trademark pull. Cummins keeps trying to find the right length on the track. As Duminy said during the pitch report, this is a good hitting pitch. Rohit ends the ending with a six. Terrible start for Cummins. Fifteen runs from the first.

Advance: The Mumbai Indians would look to bounce back after a loss in their first IPL match when they face Kolkata Knight Riders in match five of the tournament.

It was the same old story in their first IPL match, as they lost to Chennai Super Kings by five wickets in Abu Dhabi. The loss meant that it was the eighth season in a row that MI failed to win its first game.

It was a game in which CSK batters Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis taught IM batters a lesson in how to hit on slow surfaces. They mixed caution with aggression perfectly and applied very well.

MI got off to a good start, but then wavered. Lack of enforcement and poor shot selection meant they missed 15-20 runs after posting 162/9.

Defending that total, the bowlers lacked an incision. Bumrah was disarmed and his potential banana skin, the spin department, did not click and went for 73 of four overs taking only two wickets.

However, it is just one game and MI will not be looking to make drastic changes to the team, don’t be surprised if they come in with the same eleven.

KKR, led by Dinesh Karthik, on the other hand, will be looking to get off to a positive start.

They have an exciting hitting lineup that is also their strength. That higher and middle order seems sinister with the likes of Shubman Gill, Sunil Narine, Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik, and Andre Russell.

The bowling department will be headed by Pat Cummins. Kuldeep Yadav brings experience in the spin department and will be looking to bounce back after a tough last season. Other than these two, the bowling department seems to have little experience with the likes of Sandeep Warrier, Kamlesh Nagarkotti, Shivam Mavi, Prasidh Krishna, Varun Chakravarthy, M Siddharth. But it is a great opportunity for them to be noticed on the big stage. The four foreign players KKR could go with are Narine, Morgan, Russell, and Cummins.

MI could have a pretty good idea about the pitch and the conditions having played before in the stadium against CSK.

It’s a hitting heavy two-sided clash and it will come down to which side of bowling is smart enough to handle the pressure. All the ingredients point to a fascinating contest.
