IPL 2020 LIVE SCORE, Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore latest updates: Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch takes over RCB. Deepak Chahar takes the new ball for CSK. Here we go with the first over of the game.
AdvanceOut-of-form Chennai Super Kings will face an inconsistent Royal Challengers Bangalore in an intriguing mid-table match in Dubai on Saturday.
IPL 2020 has seen contrasting starts from these two teams: CSK, used to dominance early in the league phase, have lost four of their six matches, while traditional RCBs have won three of their five matches. Both teams are coming off losses in their last matches, and Saturday’s meeting will be a battle of wits between current and former India captains.
For CSK, except for Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson, no one seems to have careers. His batting order has been under scrutiny this year, with Sam Curran batting ahead of captain MS Dhoni at times and players like Ravindra Jadeja not getting enough balls to play.
It will also be interesting to see what approach CSK takes with a Kedar Jadhav out of place. The India international has yet to contribute the bat, and his hit rate has not been great either. His struggles to rotate the strike, as well as to hit big shots against KKR have not gone unnoticed, and the question remains whether the Chennai franchise will back the 35-year-old or look for other options.
Skipper Dhoni’s bat form hasn’t been great either, and despite some scores, his approach to delaying the round has been one reason for some of CSK’s failures in the chase.
RCB, on the other hand, appears to be finding its groove, despite its recent loss. A Super Over victory against the Mumbai Indians was followed by a ride over the Rajasthan Royals, before they faltered against a fit Delhi Capitals.
RCB will be inspired by the great form of young starter Devdutt Padikkal, while Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have all had decent scores.
Bowling has traditionally been a RCB problem, and while spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar have been inexpensive and effective, pacemakers Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini have leaked careers. It will be interesting to see how an out of shape mid-order CSK plays the RCB rhythm attack.
