After guiding Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), fast pitcher Mohammed Siraj said the franchise is very supportive of him and that he wanted to deliver a “magical performance” for the team. Siraj on Wednesday made history by becoming the first bowler to throw two maiden overs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match. During his first two overs, the pacemaker secured three wickets.
The pitcher gave up just eight runs of his four overs in the game, as RCB restricted KKR to just 84.
“Everyone at RCB is very supportive of me, even the fans. So I wanted to put on a magical performance for the team … and it was a magical performance,” Siraj said during the post-match press conference.
RCB chased the 85 target with eight wickets in hand and 39 balls to spare. Devdutt Padikkal and Gurkeerat Singh Mann played knocks of 25 and 21 respectively as RCB claimed victory in the 14th.

Siraj also said: “Looking at the wicket, I didn’t think the ball would swing. Kohli asked me to stay ready to throw the new ball. I was bowling with the new ball … When I got the chance, I backed off my strength. “
With this victory, RCB has moved to second place in the points table with 14 points from 10 games while KKR is in fourth place with 10 points.
