Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Nitish Rana scored a quick half-century against Delhi Capitals on Saturday at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi and dedicated it to his father-in-law Surinder Marwah, who died on Friday. Nitish Rana, who rose in order to open the innings with Shubman Gill, crushed Anrich Nortje by a limit on the last ball of the 13th time to bring in his 10th IPL fifty of just 35 deliveries. Shortly after reaching fifty, Rana held up a specially designed KKR T-shirt, with his father-in-law’s name inscribed on the back.
He and Sunil Narine combined to create a 115-run stand for the fourth wicket on just 56 balls, in which KKR posted a whopping 194/6 in 20 overs.

After KKR was put at bat by Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer, KKR began losing poorly to Shubman Gill (9) and Rahul Tripathi (13) within the Powerplay. Former captain Dinesh Karthik’s rusty form continued and came out after passing a ball directly to Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.

With their team on the back foot, KKR decided to send Sunil Narine ahead of pattern Eoin Morgan and it paid off as the West Indies, returning to the side, attacked the opposition bowlers and scored a 64 shot. Quick. just 32 balls, putting his team in a dominant position.
After his departure, Rana continued the momentum and kept pushing boundaries. He came out on the penultimate installment of innings, not before scoring 81 on just 53 balls. Morgan also landed on the last ball but by then KKR had already reached an impressive total.
