IPL 2020 – ‘I’ve never seen so much respect from a franchise’: Imran Tahir is high praise for CSK – cricket

Chennai Super Kings have had a lousy season at IPL 2020 so far and, in all likelihood, they could miss out on a play-off spot for the first time. The team has won just three of its 10 games so far and currently sits at the bottom of the points table.

One man who could have made a difference, but has had to watch it all from the bench is last season’s Purple Cap winner, Imran Tahir. The South African leg spinner doesn’t have a game yet, as MS Dhoni has preferred Sam Curran and Dwayne Bravo to him, given their overall abilities.

But despite not getting a game, the Protea spinner maintains that Chennai Super Kings is the best team he has played for among all the T20 franchises he has represented around the world.

“The best team from my heart is Chennai. I’ve been all over the world. I’ve never seen so much respect from a franchise. I have never seen someone take such good care of my family, the fans in Chennai are incredibly charming, ”Tahir told Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on his YouTube show ‘Hello Dubaiahh’.

“When I played there there was a different atmosphere. And the main reason is that I love their culture. They don’t talk about performances and they always support me and that’s what I like about that, since in cricket you will act one day and not another, ”he added.

Tahir said he “has no idea” when he will play and said it is quite difficult for a player to make the CSK squad when four foreign players have already cemented their name.

“I have no idea. Before, Faf Du Plessis had to carry drinks throughout the season. It was quite painful. He has a brilliant T20 average. I’m doing that this year. In fact, I had an idea how he felt. I’ve been talking to him, ”Tahir said.

With four games remaining to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the MS Dhoni-led unit would ideally seek to finish on the top.

With Bravo ruled out, CSK is likely to finally bring last year’s purple cap Imran Tahir to the playing XI for the remaining four games.

“And once four foreign players are established in CSK, it will be difficult for the fifth. I hope to have a game, ”Tahir said.
