Hayden, who played for Chennai Super Kings in the first two seasons of the IPL, acknowledges Bhuvneshwar’s experience (he won the Purple Cap back-to-back in 2016 and 2017) and the fact that Bumrah is in the top three pacemakers in the world – makes them a threat to opposition hitters.

“I feel like seasoned sewing bowlers will always be a threat. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has obviously been amazing in the IPL. And from the point of view of the Mumbai Indians, who can beat one of the best bowlers in world cricket, namely Jasprit Bumrah. I think he’s as good as anybody in his day, ”Hayden said on the Cricket Connected Star Sports Show.
Among the spinners, Hayden feels that CSK spinner Harbhajan Singh and left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja may have a good season. CSK has a huge impact on the spin department with the likes of Imran Tahir, Piyush Chawla, Karn Sharma and Mitchell Santner in their ranks and, in addition to Harbhajan and Jadeja, the former hitter believes leg spinners have a good chance to shine this year.
“I think you also have a handful of spinners who can look to dominate the game,” Hayden said. “Even old people can do the job. I’m thinking of guys like Harbhajan Singh, who didn’t play much cricket last year, but is still a crafty guy who can try. “Jadeja from CSK, some of the leggies also have a great chance to get into the fields this year.”
