In answer to the same question, former Indian cricketer and two-time IPL captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Gautam Gambhir said he would never replace Watson in the game eleven.

“I know Shane Watson is not in the best shape, can you imagine replacing Shane Watson with Ruturaj Gaekwad? Obviously, it’s a young, developing cricket. Or Murali Vijay? I would support Shane Watson for another 4-5 games.
