Former Indian captain MS Dhoni, winner of the World Cup, has been known for the freedom he gives to his players, especially his bowlers. But the spearhead of the Chennai Super Kings, Deepak Chahar, has recalled that MS Dhoni had only given him a 3-word answer when he asked the skipper about his role in death overs. Chahar also added that Dhoni wouldn’t let him throw in death overs not even in RPS.
“When I was playing for Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS), and even now at CSK, I was playing at about 140 km / h, but he (Dhoni) didn’t give me the ball in death,” CSK pacemaker told Aakash Chopra . on his YouTube show ‘Aakash Vaani’.
“I also asked Mahi bhai about this. She gave me a two word answer and then I couldn’t say much. So I asked the bowling coach a couple of times, he also said it should be thrown in death overs. Finally, I gathered something of value and asked Mahi bhai when he was sitting in a room. He said, ‘I prepare the players’ and that’s it. He didn’t say anything else, ”Chahar said.
Deepak Chahar was one of the first CSK members to test positive for the new coronavirus. However, the pacemaker has made a full recovery and entered training almost a week ago. In addition to Chahar, Ruturaj Gaikwad and 11 other staff members also tested positive for the coronavirus.
Chennai Super Kings will begin their IPL campaign in the first tournament against the defending champion Mumbai Indians on Saturday in Abu Dhabi. MS Dhoni CSK will miss veteran members Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh.
