IPL 2020: ‘I hope we didn’t have too many heart attacks’: Preity Zinta reacts to another close KXIP win – cricket

Kings XI Punjab seemed to have developed a habit in the current Indian Premier League season of taking their matches to the end. KXIP started the tournament with a Super Over against the Delhi Capitals which they lost, and then two games later, they saw the Rajasthan Royals chasing 224 against them in an epic thriller. Fortunately for KXIP captain KL Rahul and head coach Anil Kumble, the franchise has seen them be on the right side of the results in the last four games, but all of those victories have also gone all the way.

KXIP defeated RCB in a last-ball thriller with Nicholas Pooran hitting a six last week. Two games later, KXIP also played an unforgettable match against the Mumbai Indians who saw two Super Overs for the first time in tournament history. (Total IPL Coverage 2020)

KXIP’s game against SRH on Saturday was not much different as Arshdeep Singh and Chris Jordan made a sensational effort at bowling to get their team back on track and drive an unexpected victory. Defending 127, KXIP had seen Jonny Bairstow and David Warner give SRH a good start.

But after the former were fired in quick succession, Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar formed a strong partnership to bring their team closer to victory. But the terrains began to fall at regular intervals and eventually SRH missed the target in 12 races.

After another close victory, KXIP co-owner Preity Zinta took to Twitter to celebrate the victory. “So excited I can’t sleep. I hope we haven’t given the 2R fans too many heart attacks. Tonight is a great lesson in never giving up and fighting to the end, ”wrote the Bollywood star.

Meanwhile, KXIP captain KL Rahul admitted that he was speechless after the victory. “Yes, we are making it a habit. In the first half we somehow couldn’t make this a habit. I’m speechless right now to be honest. Very happy with the boys’ show. The work done is always behind the scenes, not just the players, but the support staff. You can’t change a lot in a player in two months, but you can always improve mentally and that’s what Coach Kumble, Andy, Charl, Jonty and Wasim have done, ”said Rahul.

KXIP will face KKR on Monday.
