IPL 2020: Happy to play where the team requires me, says Rajasthan Royals hero Buttler – cricket

England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler proved once again why he is considered one of the best in the world in T20 cricket when he led the Rajasthan Royals over the line against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL on Monday night.

The Royals were chasing a modest goal, but the pitch was slow and slow and CSK made a great start by eliminating the first order. Buttler repaired the innings along with Captain Steve Smith and then led the attack on the opposition.

In a field where all batters were struggling, Buttler excelled with an undefeated hit of 70 in just 48 deliveries, hitting 2 sixes and 7 limits during his hit. Buttler, who had been struggling to give his team quick starts at the top of the order, has returned to hitting where he feels comfortable and that shows in his resurgence.

Buttler, who does the job of spiker for England, appears to have found his rhythm in the middle order, but remains open to hitting where his team needs it.

“It’s different (from opening the tickets). In between, we are much more reactive to what happened before. I’m happy to play both roles, wherever the team requires me to play, ”Buttler said in a video tweeted by the Royals.

“We needed a partnership, the execution rate was never a big problem. We weren’t chasing a grand total, we lost a couple of wickets and we just needed a partnership and to calm down the game and regain momentum from CSK, ”Buttler said.

He has called for an improved effort on the field, adding that the team gave away an additional 10-15 runs during their win against Chennai Super Kings.

“We could still improve our field. We probably gave away 10 or 15 on the field, “Buttler said.

“It was a much-needed victory. It was a pretty good performance with the ball. Jofra has been fantastic and Shreyas and Rahul Tewatia were brilliant with the leg twist, ”he added.

The Royals featured in leadership positions against the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Banglore in their previous two outings. However, Smith and his men were unable to cross the finish line.

They currently rank fifth on the points table with four wins in 10 games. The victory over CSK has kept their playoff hopes alive.

“Sometimes we certainly haven’t played the best cricket in the tournament, but in the last three games we’ve played but we just won one.

“This is the end of the business and this is where we need to get the results. Good sign that we are playing better cricket, ”Buttler added.
