IPL 2020: Good news! CSK players and staff test negative for Covid-19

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp was finally able to breathe relief as all players and support staff tested negative on the Covid-19 test conducted on Monday prior to the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

There was tension in the camp over the results after two players, Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad, tested positive. To this is added the departure of Suresh Raina for “personal reasons” that generated a lot of heat on social networks in recent days.

The CSK camp desperately hoped there would be no more problems and the negative report was a shot in the arm. All players and support staff will have to pass another test on September 3. If everyone passes the last hurdle, they will be able to go out on the field from September 5.

However, Chahar and Ruturaj remain in quarantine and will not be available for practice before September 12. Meanwhile, Faf du Pless and Lungi Ngidi arrived in Dubai and went directly into quarantine.

MS Dhoni optimistic about Suresh Raina’s return at IPL 2020

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and their leader MS Dhoni feel that Suresh Raina can still return to the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) in UAE. Raina, who has been a huge cog on the wheel for CSK’s hitting, left the team puffing and puffing, but CSK has yet to officially ask for any replacement for the southpaw.

No one knows exactly why Raina suddenly left, other than CSK management. But whatever it is, the reality is that CSK has not requested any replacement to date. This clearly means that CSK is either waiting for Raina to return or is betting heavily on the young Ruturaj Gaikwad to replace Raina.

None other than CSK owner N. Srinivasan himself has clearly hinted that CSK will not ask for any replacements and is hopeful that Raina will realize what he is missing.
