IPL 2020: England Cricketer Trolls RCB with MS Dhoni’s “Definitely Not” Viral Quote

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was eliminated from the 2020 IPL season, after losing to SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator on Friday night. RCB’s trophy-less run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) continued with the team that has yet to clinch the coveted award. England women’s team cricketer Alexandra Hartley, who appears to be a fan of RCB, took to Twitter to express her disappointment at the team’s departure. She did, however, have a poignant question, one that many RCB fans would wonder: “Will we ever win a title?”

While many RCB fans identified with Hartley, her teammate in England, Kate Cross decided to have fun.

In response to Hartley’s question “Will we ever win a title?” Post, Cross responded by posting a photo of MS Dhoni in the CSK jersey, with the words “Definitely not” emblazoned on it.

In the final draw for the Chennai Super Kings IPL 2020 match, commentator Danny Morrison asked Dhoni: “Will this be your last match in yellow?” The CSK captain responded quickly and gave an emphatic two-word answer: “Definitely not.”

Dhoni’s emphatic response went viral on the internet and has now even become a meme.

For RCB, however, this is no laughing matter. The team has yet to win an IPL title, and that must be frustrating for Captain Kohli, the team management and the owners.

This season RCB had a brilliant first half, and for much of IPL 2020, it was the team to beat alongside Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. However, towards the end, the results worsened and four consecutive defeats left them on the brink.

However, they made the playoffs at Net Run-Rate (NRR), a far cry from the team that seemed unbeatable at one point. The finale was also disappointing, as the famous batting lineup didn’t show up to the party when it mattered most, meaning RCB exited the tournament after five consecutive losses.
