Regarded as one of the heavyweights of the tournament, MI played excellent cricket to reach the final. MI’s teamwork was evident in every game they played this season. Their strategies and game plan were spot on most of the time and now, they are ready to imagine their strength one last time.
Former England fast bowler Dominic Cork has been very impressed with the principle around which the Mumbai Indians have built their team. Speaking on the cricket talk show on Star Sports, he stated that MI has outlined the best plan among all, for resource players.
“When you look at what they (Mumbai Indians) have done for a period of time now, that squad they bring in, that team is the best and I think the way they turn to the players, their analysis is also the best, the way they do all of their face-to-face, ”Dominic said on Star Sports.
“I think they have every piece of the puzzle in order and when you look at their team, they have the best team, it’s simple. Because, let’s say, if Trent Boult gets injured, they have a left arm to go straight in, on Mitch McClenaghan. So every little piece of the puzzle is good, ”he added.
The former English cricketer praised the young pistols of the Mumbai Indians, especially Suryakumar Yadav and Rahul Chahar. While Surya has been between races throughout the tournament, Chahar played the role of a game changer with his spinning bowling pin on many occasions.
“The Mumbai Indians have some fantastic young players, two I will name, Suryakumar Yadav and Rahul Chahar, two, who I think will definitely play for India,” Cork said on the show.
While the Mumbai Indians prepare for another final victory, the Delhi Capitals await their first title win. Both teams met in Qualifier 1 which was in favor of MI. While DC rallied, winning runner-up against SRH to enter the final.
