By winning his first game of the season, Dinesh Karthik & Co. racked up his first two points of the season on Saturday after losing his first game against Mumbai. Skipper Dinesh Karthik was delighted to score a win under his belt after a full performance against Hyderabad. However, the captain has a wish list when it comes to trading players if given the chance.
Speaking to Delhi spinner Ravi Ashwin on his YouTube show after the win, Karthik revealed the names of the players that he would love to trade with Delhi, if given the chance. Proteas sprinter Kagiso Rabada was at the top of Karthik’s list. He added that he would trade Rabada for Lockie Ferguson. The South African sprinter has already been causing a sensation at IPL 2020 with a great super finish in his first match and a full performance against Chennai.

Second, Karthik mentioned that he would trade Nitish Rana for the patron of Delhi, Shreyas Iyer. The Delhi skipper has also been in good contact leading his team from the front. Yet surprisingly, Karthik stated that he would also trade in Kolkata spinning master Sunil Narine. In addition to leading the spin department, Narine also opens up the hitting for Kolkata with the aim of landing some quick runs. Karthik stated that he would trade Narine with the veteran officer, Ravi Ashwin, himself.

Kolkata wins the first two points
Winning its first two points of the season, Kolkata defeated Hyderabad by 7 wickets on Saturday in Abu Dhabi. Dinesh Karthik & Co. was a complete performer in all respects as the players also approached with the ball and bat. Shubman Gill played a 70-run, 62-delivery instrumental inning as he anchored the Kolkata innings and guided them over the line. English captain Eoin Morgan supported Gill as he kept the other end strong and scored 42 of 29.

Chasing a total of 143, Kolkata was in an upset spot as they lost early ground. Danger fighter Sunil Narine was fired in the second over by Khaleel Ahmed, while Nitesh Rana was also returned after a brief cameo. Captain Dinesh Karthik later assumed responsibility, but his stay in the fold was short, courtesy of Rashid Khan’s brilliant delivery to catch him. So it was Gill & Morgan who anchored all the innings joining a 67-race partnership for the fourth wicket.
