Things have not gone as planned for the Chennai Super Kings in the thirteenth season of the Indian Premier League. Even before the start of the season, CSK was affected as two key players, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh, decided not to participate in this year’s tournament for personal reasons. Despite CSK starting well with a victory over the Mumbai Indians, their campaign has been interrupted in recent matches.
The team led by MS Dhoni has now lost three straight games at IPL 2020 and CSK now languishes in last position in the IPL points table. There have been problems in the hitting department after Raina’s departure, but the problems have been compounded by a lackluster effort on the field by CSK.

After stumbling across a seven-run loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Dhoni admitted that the team was repeating the same mistakes and missed opportunities are hampering his chances.
CSK gardeners were careless in the field. Abhishek fell twice in the 18th, first by Ravindra Jadeja and then by Shardul Thakur. The former Indian captain stated that there are many positive aspects of the game and that the team will make a strong comeback.
“A long time ago, we may or may not have lost three in a row. We have to do many things well. It is professionalism: letting catch, throwing without balls. We make the same mistakes again, ”Dhoni said.
“After the end of the 16, we had two bad overs. Overall, we could have been a little better. Nobody wants to drop captures, but at this level, you have to draw a line that these captures must be made. Captures like these can really get in the way of your knockout games. What if this was an elimination game? There are many positives to this game. Some areas to improve and we will come back stronger ”, he added.

SRH youngster Priyam Garg put on an impressive performance against CSK. Priyam and Abhishek Sharma had rescued SRH from a disastrous start and allowed SRH to post 164 runs in 20 overs. Priyam broke 51 runs on just 26 balls, while Abhishek made a valiant 31 after witnessing a poor start.
However, CSK fell seven runs from the target and Dhoni admitted that he was unable to cross the ball early in innings.
“I wasn’t able to deliver a lot, maybe trying to hit the ball too hard. Looking at the gardens, it was subconscious. I’m fine, my throat is starting to dry out under these conditions, ”Dhoni said during the post-match presentation on host station Star Sports.
CSK will face Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.
