IPL 2020 kicks off today with defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The first match of IPL 2020 is a repeat of last year’s final and both teams are looking to make an early statement in the tournament. The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video on its official Twitter account on Saturday, giving a preview of the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the site of the CSK vs MI clash. The Indian Premier League will be played at three venues in the United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai.

The match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians is a highly anticipated encounter with CSK captain MS Dhoni taking the field for the first time since India’s defeat at the 2019 ODI World Cup against New Zealand in the semi-finals.
Much has changed since that fateful day. Dhoni has announced his retirement from international cricket, while the coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on the cricket calendar, causing the 2020 IPL to move from India to the United Arab Emirates.
It is expected to be an even competition, with both sides boasting some big name players.
