IPL 2020: CSK to End Contracts with Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Says Report | Cricket news

DUBAI: In the middle of the ongoing IPL 2020 in the UAE, it has now emerged that Chennai Super Kings have decided to terminate all contractual relationships with Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh.

The IPL franchise has reportedly not only removed the names of Raina and Harbhajan from its official website, but under the rule has also started the process of terminating all contractual relationships with both players.

In accordance with the IPL auction guidelines in 2018, both Harbhajan and Raina had signed a 3-year contract with CSK that expired with the 2020 IPL 2020 season.

Since both players have opted out of the current IPL tournament, CSK has reportedly decided to go ahead to officially terminate their contracts with the duo.

Raina had signed a Rs 11 Crore annual contract with CSK, while former Indian spinner ‘Bhajji’ had signed a Rs 2 Crore annual contract with the team. According to the information, from now on no salary will be charged to players for the season.

The InsideSport report said CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has not denied the issue of terminating contracts with the players. Without revealing many details, he said. “Players will only get paid if they play, since they are not playing, they will not be paid.”

The termination of the contracts clearly means that Raina or Harbhajan are no longer CSK players. This also means that, if for the next season (IPL 2021), the BCCI does not organize a player auction due to time constraints, Raina and Harbhajan will not have any contract with CSK and may end without participating in the IPL for a season more. .
