IPL 2020: Covered with PPE kits, Eng-Aus players land in Dubai, Rajasthan Royals say ‘pehchan kaun

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) has received a huge boost as players from England and Australia have arrived to play in the IPL 2020.

Covered in PPE gear from head to toe, it was difficult to recognize any player when he landed in Dubai.

Rajasthan Royals were the first to tweet a picture of the players with a caption. ‘pehchan kaun’. The Royals can finally breathe easy when the players arrived.

Tom Curran, Steve Smith, Jofra Archer, Andrew Tye were the four cricketers to hit base in the UAE before IPL 2020. Rajasthan Royals on Thursday night shared a tweet saying, “Four newcomers. Can you guess who is who?

Warner and a few other players were seen wearing personal protection kits (PPE) in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that forced BCCI to pull the league out of India this year.

An image of David Warner and Pat Cummins in full-body PPE outfits after landing in Dubai is going viral on social media. 21 players from England and Australia arrived in Dubai for the IPL and will now spend 36 hours isolating themselves in their hotel rooms.

The duration of the quarantine for these players is much less than the 6-day period maintained by players who went to the UAE from India because the English and Australians simply switched from one bi-bubble in England to another for the IPL.
Players will now have to undergo a mandatory RT-PCR test for the novel coronavirus upon arrival.

IPL 2020: England and Australia players will be quarantined for 36 hours instead of 6 days

They all went through the RT-PCR test for COVID-19 in Dubai and the three Kolkata Knight Riders players, Eoin Morgan, Tom Banton and Pat Cummins, will head to Abu Dhabi, where their team is based after 36 hours.

Only the KKR and the defending champion Mumbai Indians are based in Abu Dhabi, while the remaining six franchises are in Dubai.

So far, the Abu Dhabi government has refused to relax its 14-day quarantine rule regardless of the Covid-19 test result.

The Knight Riders along with the Mumbai Indians are the two franchises that are based in Abu Dhabi. While the Mumbai Indians had no play on a chartered flight from Manchester, the Knight Riders have Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins and Tom Banton.

However, the government of Dubai agreed to relax the rules and those staying there will now have to undergo 36 hours of quarantine after arrival from the UK, provided the PCR test result is negative. The logic behind such relaxation is that gamers are traveling from one biosecurity bubble to another.
