IPL 2020 | Contrary to public belief, I don’t think many people believe in RCB, says Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli has stated that many people did not have faith in RCB, contrary to what is public opinion at the moment, as he said that the faith of the people within the dressing room is the most important thing. Kohli also added that Chris Morris enjoys the leadership role and is doing quite well.

After finishing in the bottom half of the table for two consecutive seasons, Royal Challengers Bangalore did a review of things ahead of this year’s IPL, not only with the team but also as part of backroom management. All the factors combined quite well, as the franchise has found itself in the second position in the points table, and only NRR is the differentiator. Kohli expressed his happiness over the fact and stated that the management has brought in a proper culture before each game, which resulted in the team being a dominant force this season.

“Obviously I have thought a lot about the things we can do on the field. The management has introduced a proper culture before every game we play. We have a plan A, we have a plan B and people are executing it, so it looks good. Contrary to public belief, I don’t think that many people believe in RCB. I do, the locker room guys do it and that’s all that matters. We are only here to execute our plans instead. We have the skills. You can have the best players in the world, but if you don’t believe, you won’t get results on the field, ”Kohli said in the post-match presentation.

Mohammed Siraj replaced Shahbaz Ahmed for the match and that turned out to be a golden decision with the Hyderabad-born pacemaker striking gold fearlessly. With three wickets from the first two overs, in which he did not even concede a run, he made him the MVP for RCB in this game and Kohli was ecstatic with praise. But it wasn’t Siraj who was the first power bowler tonight.

“To be honest, it was a late call (to give Siraj the new ball). I was thinking of gifting Washy. When we got here, we saw the surface, it seemed drier. At the pitch, I said it was a good pitch to lose. We would have hit first, but the field seemed to look much better under the lights. We had the option of the plan to start with Washi and bring Morris in in the second, then we thought about giving Siraj the new ball with Morris. Let him set the tone and then let Siraj try to swing the ball.

“Last year had a difficult year. A lot of people were pretty tough on him. This time he worked hard, he was really determined. Now he is seeing the result and we want him to continue ”, stated the RCB boss.

Despite the fact that the Chris Morris purchase received a lot of criticism at first, the Saffer is restoring faith in a magnificent way, becoming the trump card in all three departments. Kohli said Morris loves responsibility and is thriving in the leadership role.

“Morris loves responsibility. He likes to be in a leadership role within the team, leading the guys. Even against Kings, he tried York Gayle, who showed heart. He never loses faith and that is contagious. His energy is amazing. A great, great addition to our team, ”added Kohli.
