DUBAI: Capitals of Delhibowling coach Ryan harris said that Ravichandran ashwin “could be available for selection” for the team’s Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), scheduled for Saturday.
Ashwin had suffered a shoulder injury during the tournament’s franchise opener against Kings XI Punjab. However, providing an update on Ashwin, Harris said that roulette “is doing great.”

“He is doing excellent. He had a very good session last night with the ball, the bat and on the field. So he could be available for the selection tomorrow, but we are still awaiting confirmation from our medical staff tonight,” Harris said in a press release issued by Delhi Capitals.
Delhi Capitals have played three matches so far, recording two wins and one loss. After winning their opening two games, the team suffered a 15-run loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Harris said they weren’t in their prime for that game, but there’s no reason to panic.
“After an unfortunate loss, we just weren’t at our best for that game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. But, there is no panic by any means,” he said.
“When you look back, a couple of balls during our bowling missed a little bit, and (SRH) probably ran better between the grounds, we didn’t run that well. But 15 runs is not a huge gap,” Harris added.
Delhi Capitals will also play in Sharjah for the first time this season tomorrow, and Harris is looking forward to a high-scoring match.
“Obviously this is new ground for us and the games where they have scored quite high, so it is the other element that we are seeing, at the moment,” said the former Australian running back.
Harris also believes that this year’s competition is probably the closest he can remember.
“Coming into the tournament, everyone was saying the same thing that there are no clear favorites this season. I think this year’s competition is probably the closest I can remember and I’ve been involved in a few seasons overall. I think everyone is pretty much sitting on it. The same points, it’s going to be close. The games that go all the way are the ones you need to win to make sure you’re in those playoff spots or in the top two positions, “he said. He said.
“With this whole COVID situation, the guys didn’t really train before coming here, but they did an excellent job in the networking session for the three weeks leading up to the tournament. Going into the game, we stepped back a bit to make sure that our energy levels have recharged. Now it’s important to make sure kids can maintain their energy levels and don’t cook. T20 is a quick game and kids need all of their energy so we make sure we give them plenty of rest too between parties, “he added.
