IPL 2020: ‘Are you going to play Glenn Maxwell offside?’ Aakash Chopra predicts change for KXIP – cricket

Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has continued to face criticism for his losing streak in the current 2020 Indian Premier League season in the United Arab Emirates. Maxwell was bought by Punjab for 10.75 million rupees but has only managed 58 runs in 9 games. The Punjab’s insistence on keeping him in the XI game has not made matters any better, as on Sunday against the Mumbai Indians, he was fired by a duck and did not participate in the two Super Overs that followed.

So when KXIP takes on Delhi Capitals on Tuesday, a big question will arise: Will the franchise give Maxwell one more shot against one of the best teams this season? (Total IPL coverage 2020)

Addressing it, cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra said that KXIP has no reason to stick with Maxwell, unless they want to play him as a part-time player on the team.

“I feel like the Kings XI Punjab have room for a change. Are they going to keep playing Maxwell as a spinner? You’re not getting it to hit, he came out with a duck in the normal game and you didn’t send him in any of the Super Overs, ”Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

“So is he playing like a spinner who will give you 4 overs that can throw to lefties in opposition? If that is the thought, then that is the thought; if not then they should make a change as they concede 50 runs in the last three overs, ”he added.

“Hardus Viljoen is out, so do you want to use it or do you stick with Jordan for the end and have Jimmy Neesham come back to the middle? Personally, I feel like you need another bowler because hitting shouldn’t be a problem right now as Hooda looks in good shape too, ”he added.

Delhi is currently at the top of the table with 14 points in 9 games so far, and Punjab is currently placed in 7th position in the table with 6 points in 9 games so far.
