The Punjab Kings XI defeated the defending champions Mumbai Indians on Sunday in one of the closest matches ever seen in the history of the Indian Premier League. In winning the toss, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma chose to hit first and posted a 177 goal for KL Rahul’s Kings XI Punjab to chase after him. With 77 runs on 51 balls, Rahul brought his team closer to the goal, but was only able to tie the game, taking the match to a Super Over.
Both teams scored 5 runs in the Super Over, so a second Super Over had to be held to decide the contest. KXIP scored 12 runs in response to the 11 IM in the second Super Over to win the match. (Total IPL coverage 2020)

Following the thrilling victory, Kings XI Punjab co-owner and Bollywood actress Preity Zinta took to Twitter to praise her team’s efforts.

Meanwhile, KXIP captain KL Rahul said after the victory that he is happy to get two more points in the bag. “It is not the first time, I am getting used to it but we will take the two points as they come. It doesn’t always happen, so you don’t know how to stay balanced in a situation like this. We have put in really incredible performances even in the games that we lost. We are trying to come back harder in every game and wins like this help, ”he said.
