IPL 2020: ‘A privilege to see the best T20 fast bowler in the world’ – MI bowling coach Shane Bond over Jasprit Bumrah – cricket

Jasprit Bumrah first threw an unplayable yorker to shake the stumps of Shikhar Dhawan and then pushed Captain Shreyas Iyer back cheaply to leave very little opportunity for the Delhi capitals to chase the 201-run goal set by the Mumbai Indians during Qualifier 1 on Thursday. The fast bowler of the Mumbai Indians did not stop there. He came back to clean up Marcus Stoinis and fire Daniel Sams to finish with the best T20 figures of his career and lead MI to their sixth IPL final with an easy 57-race win.

Reflecting on Bumrah’s performance, Mumbai Indians bowling coach Shane Bond said MI pace’s spearhead is the best T20 fast shooter in the world.

“Jasprit, it is a privilege to see the best T20 fast bowler in the world do his job,” Bond said in a video posted by the Mumbai Indians on Twitter.

Bumrah, who also snatched Purple Cap Delhi Capitals pacemaker Kagiso Rabada, conceded just 14 runs of his four overs and chose four wickets. Bumrah currently has 27 wickets in 14 games at an average of 13.92 and an economy rate of 6.71, all the best among the top five most successful bowlers at IPL 2020.

“I agree not to get land and win the tournament, I have been given a role so I just want to play that role,” Bumrah said in the post-match presentation.

Bumrah also called the delivery that brought out Shikhar Dhawan as really important.

“The yorker opening was really important. I decided I would do it early in the game and when it comes out it’s always good, ”he said.

New Zealand’s Bumrah and Trent Boult (2/9) had reduced the CD to 0/3.

“I have a great camaraderie with Boult. We discuss fields, situations, so there is a lot to learn from him.

Bond also praised Trent Boult saying that “I have loved working with Trent since 2012. We have seen him at his best and I was very excited to have him on our team. Because I know how devastating the bowler can be and he’s made it through this tournament for us. ”

Sent at bat first, the Mumbai Indians had scored a total of 200 runs on the board with Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan scoring 51 and 55 * respectively. Additionally, Hardik Pandya played a 37-run undefeated hit with just 14 balls.

Chasing the goal, Delhi Capitals got off to a very poor start when their first three hitters, Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane, returned to the pavilion in a duck. Delhi Capitals only managed to score 143 runs, with Marcus Stoinis scoring the most runs of the team, playing a 65-run hit.
