The Indian Premier League 2020 has crossed the middle of the road and we have witnessed some crazy moments so far this year. The league started with two Super Overs in the first week and several other close finals. Even though IPL 2020 is not a racing festival, it is turning out to be the most exciting season yet with very intense finishes in almost every game.
So far, 37 league matches have been played, with Delhi Capitals leading the 2020 IPL points table with Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore following them. These three teams will almost certainly qualify for the play-offs. The remaining five teams compete for fourth place, where the Kolkata Knight Riders have the best chance of qualifying.

Several players have not lived up to expectations and have not been able to deliver the results desired by their teams. Here we are taking a look at five of those players, who disappointed the fans with a series of poor performances.
Pat Cummins (KKR)
Australian spearhead Pat Cummins was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping 15.5 million rupees. He previously played for KKR in 2014 before moving to Delhi Capitals. In the nine games so far, he has looked washed out with ball in hand and has managed just three wickets so far with an economy of 8.42.
However, he has looked good with the bat with 126 runs at a hit rate of 161. He scored the most goal against the Mumbai Indians with a fifty and rescued his team from a humiliating position. He has not resembled the bowler that he is internationally.

Glenn Maxwell (KXIP)
Kings XI Punjab expressed their affection for Glenn Maxwell at the auction and bought him for a large sum of Rs 10.75 million. Maxwell has played for KXIP before and is in their folklore for his heroics in 2014. The all-rounder led his team to the 2014 IPL final single-handedly scoring great runs. Everyone expected him to replicate the success he experienced the last time IPL was played in the UAE.
But to everyone’s surprise, Maxwell hasn’t hit a single six in the first nine league games of the season. Additionally, he has an unthinkable hit rate below 100 for his 58 runs in the same period. Their only field was against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In short, ‘Big Show’ became a ‘Big Flop’ at IPL 2020.

Sheldon Cottrell (KXIP)
Sheldon Cottrell made a name for himself when he sent some shouts to the Indian hitters when the West Indies were touring India ahead of the 2020 IPL auction. Everyone loved his ticket-taking celebration more than his swinging deliveries in advance. Thus, he attracted a buyer in IPL in the form of Kings XI Punjab, who paid 8.5 million rupees for his services.
Cottrell gave a few cheers at the start of the season, but as the league progressed, the cheers dried up. Finally, he was fired from the XI player after six games. Four of his six wickets came in the first two games, but he managed just two in the last four. He was conceding runs 8.8 runs over.
Robin Uthappa (RR)
Robin Uthappa had been with Kolkata Knight Riders for a long time in the IPL, but was released after last season. Rajasthan Royals showed immediate interest in him during the auction and grabbed him for 3 million rupees. He’s a seasoned starter when it comes to IPL, but he hasn’t done well this year. Uthappa has had just 124 runs in seven games with a strike rate of 117. RR had high expectations of him, but hasn’t lived up to them so far at IPL 2020. He has started opening innings now and has shown some improvement in his to form.
James Neesham (KXIP)
The Kiwi SUV is always in the news for his tweets. Kings XI Punjab instantly insured it for 50 lakhs. He entered the XI of play for three games, where he hit just once for his seven runs. With the ball, he has thrown 10 overs so far and has a lone wicket to show for it. Therefore, it has not lived up to expectations.
