Congressional leader Rahul Gandhi stopped a tractor rally in Punjab on Sunday to protest against the farm laws recently enacted by the Center.
Gandhi came to Moga for tractor demonstrations in Punjab from October 4-6.
The rallies, which have been named ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’, would cover more than 50 km, spread over three days in various districts and electoral districts.
When the rally was supported by ministers and farmers, Gandhi’s scion was photographed on a custom tractor with a makeshift sofa seat to carry it during the rally.
Before long, the trolls caught on to the image and compared Gandhi’s “unusual” seating arrangement on the tractor to the scene from the popular British comedy. Mr bean where Rowan Atkinson, who played the character of Mr Bean, comically drives his car around town while sitting on top of him on a couch.
Calling Mr Bean a “best actor”, Gandhi’s photo soon went viral on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Gandhi is said to visit Haryana on October 6 and 7 to continue the tractor rallies. On the first day, your rally will enter Pehowa in Haryana from the Punjab border. In Pehowa, he will address the people, said the president of the state Congress, Kumari Selja.
After this, Rahul Gandhi will go to Kurukshetra and stop there for the night. His journey will start at Pipli Mandi the next morning, from where he will proceed to Nilokheri and then to Karnal, where the tractor rally will culminate, he said. Selja said that Rahul Gandhi and other congressional leaders have been raising the issues of farmers, workers and ordinary people.
