Interior Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on starting his 20th year as a public representative.
In a seven-minute long video he posted on Twitter, Shah commemorated October 7, the date Narendra Modi was first elected as the prime minister of Gujarat in 2001.
In his video, Shah noted that PM Modi’s rise in politics proved that one-party democracy is the only way to ensure that the dreams of this country’s founders are fulfilled. He said: “Before the BJP came to power, there was a culture of democracy and multi-party coalitions. These coalitions led to corruption throughout the country, turned the poor into a vote bank and created the wrong foreign policy. “
Shah noted that, as the Prime Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi worked hard to develop the state’s infrastructure and made sure that the people living in the state are safe and secure. Shah also highlighted that Modi’s performance as prime minister was exemplary and he was therefore chosen as the first BJP candidate for the 2014 elections.
“PM Modi increased the income of the poor and farmers. He wanted reforms and made sure that the poor not only had benefits, but also believed in themselves and in government. He also made sure that the minimum support price is the same as recommended by the Swaminathan commission, ”said Shah.
“Under his rule, the world realizes that India, a nation of 130 million people, should not be taken lightly. We are a strong nation and the surgical strikes and airstrikes show that no one should take India lightly, ”he added.
