Instead of the weekend, Haryana stores and malls, except those dealing with essential services, will now be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays until new orders are placed. However, the offices will be closed on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), depending on the order.
Friday’s order comes just a week after the Haryana government Weekend Closing Restrictions Reimposed, ordering that all stores and offices remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The order issued by Chief Secretary Keshni Anand Arora, who is also Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Haryana State, State Disaster Management Authority, is a modification of his previous order.

“Considering that the State Disaster Management Authority has reconsidered the matter. The undersigned as Chairman of the State Executive Committee hereby orders that in order to contain further spread of the coronavirus in Haryana, shopping malls and stores, except those dealing with essential goods and services, will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. in markets in urban areas. by Haryana. Consequently, there is no bar at the opening of shops and malls on Saturdays and Sundays in these areas. These orders will be applicable until new orders ”, says Arora’s order.

“The previous order was revised today because people have demanded that the weekend restrictions not be imposed in stores and malls. Thus, in accordance with the orders issued today by the Chief Secretary, stores and shopping centers will remain closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The offices will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The establishment of essential goods and services will remain open every day. A two-day shutdown is required to break the chain of a growing number of coronavirus cases across the state. There are several places where stores are closed on Sundays. To avoid a continuous closure of the stores for three days, the deputy commissioners can allow the stores to remain open on Sundays in their respective districts, ”said State Interior Minister Anil Vij.
With 12 deaths and 1,293 new cases on Thursday night, Haryana’s total Covid-19 count on Thursday night reached 59,298 with 646 deaths.

After several Haryana government officials and politicians tested positive, the state government also issued orders on Thursday restricting entry to the Haryana Civil Registry.
Krishanpal Gujjar, Haryana BJP leader and union minister, tested positive on Thursday. Prime Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Vidhan Sabha Speaker, in addition to several other MLA and Haryana ministers, have already tested positive, while some are in home isolation as “precautionary measures”.
“The Haryana government has decided that entry of all visitors to the Haryana Civil Registry, except government officials / officials residing in tricity, will remain restricted until further orders are issued. No visitor will be allowed to enter the Civil Secretariat. Officers / officials stationed in other districts and residing outside of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali will also not be allowed to enter the Civil Secretariat, until new orders are issued, ”said an order issued Thursday by the state government.
