Indore:
Indore police have found that claims by a 19-year-old college student who on Tuesday accused five men of kidnapping, gang-raping and stabbing her are “inconsistent” and “unfounded”. Research has revealed that even the stab she has suffered is self-inflicted. Following an investigation, the police have filed a lawsuit against her for registering a false case.
The girl has not yet disclosed the reason for filing a false case, as she is still recovering, police told NDTV.
The main defendant in the initial case and the girl were in love and used to live in the same town, according to police.
On Tuesday night, she had told police that she was abducted by two men and gang-raped by them and three others. They then stabbed her, put her in a jute bag and threw her on the train track. She had claimed to have managed to break free and, with the help of some locals, arrived at MY Hospital in Indore.
However, a further investigation based on his accusation showed that his claims were false.
“Over 150 CCTV images were verified and scientific evidence was collected along the train tracks from Pardeshipura to Banganga during the investigation. Police found the claims made by the girl to be unfounded and inconsistent,” said Indore IG Harinarayan Chari Mishra to the media.
“A case under section 182/211 against the girl will be filed after the investigation of the man by the police revealed that these claims were false,” he said.
Police will further investigate the reasons why she filed such a case after she recovers, she said.
