Bombay:
A monolith, a sheet metal structure that has mysteriously appeared and disappeared around the world, was spotted at Joggers Park in Mumbai suburban Bandra on Wednesday.
Local corporate Asif Zakeria tweeted about it in the morning.
“It has numbers on the side, let’s try to figure out what they mean,” he said in the tweet while sharing some images of the triangular, prism-shaped structure, about two meters high.
This is the second such installation to appear in the country after one was seen in a garden in Ahmedabad last December.
The first monolith was discovered in a remote canyon in Utah in the US Similar structures have been detected in around 30 countries, offering some distraction and comfort to the world ravaged by the coronavirus.
In a press release, Zakeria said the numbers etched on one of the panels offer a coded message about nature and wildlife conservation.
Officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation did not offer any comment on the looming installation in the popular garden.
