“We did not receive timely case or death reports from some states. We persuaded them to share these details with us, after which cases were reported and today we have seen an increase in death cases. We are dealing with an infectious disease That is why the timely reporting of cases and their management is crucial. This gap was noted in some states, which is being addressed after due persuasion, “he said.
Agarwal emphasized that it is important to effectively implement contact tracing, active case finding, and clinical case management.
“The closure has yielded very positive results. We started with a case duplication rate of four and so far we have a case duplication rate of 12,” he said.

“The comparison between hydroxychloroquine and remdesivir is not correct because we don’t know the efficacy of both until now. Which one is better can only be determined after the trials,” Mande told ANI here.
“Trials have started for many drugs, but the first results, which may show the way forward, will probably be in our hands in the next two to three weeks,” he added.
