Although the country continues to witness an increase in Covid-19 cases, the Center on Wednesday issued new guidelines for the reopening of activities for individuals. The Center has given a green flag for the partial reopening of cinemas, schools, universities and swimming pools, among other things.
According to the new guidelines, schools and colleges can reopen beginning October 15 in a staggered manner, but only after the states and union territories have taken “consultation with the respective school / institution leadership, based on your assessment of the situation. ”
This relaxation comes with a set of conditions of its own, one of which is: “Students may attend schools and institutions only with the written consent of their parents.”
On the other hand, movie theaters have been able to reopen with up to 50 percent of their seating capacity, for which the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MHA) will issue SOP (standard operating procedure).
On Wednesday, Maharashtra extended its lockdown until October 31, while also issuing relaxations in some services such as restaurants, Mumbai local service bars and hotels.
The Center in its guidelines has also made clear that all UT states and governments will not impose any closures outside of the containment zones until consultation with the government is held.
“State / UT governments will not impose any local blockades (state / district / subdivision / city / town), outside of the containment zones, without prior consultation with the central government. There are no restrictions on interstate and intrastate movement, ”the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
