Images of violence erupted in the US Capitol surfaced on social media after supporters of US President Donald Trump invaded and ransacked the building to disrupt Congressional certification of the electoral victory. from Democrat Joe Biden.
Moments after a special Trump rally seeking to reverse the election, a flag-waving mob broke through barricades outside the Capitol and stormed in, sweeping up offices and the generally solemn legislative floors.
One woman died in unclear circumstances after being shot inside the Capitol and others were injured, police said, and lawmakers were evacuated and handed out protective masks as police fired tear gas.
Soon after, Twitter, along with other social media platforms, was littered with images and videos of the violent protests, as Trump supporters waved the US flag in front of the Capitol.
However, there was an Indian tricolor in the crowd, suggesting that sponsors of Indian origin were also present in attendance.

This can be seen in a video tweeted by journalist Alejandro Alvarez @aletweetsnews in which the sympathizer armed with the Indian flag can be seen.

Questioning the presence of the Indian flag in the protests, BJP leader Varun Gandhi also shared the video, writing: “Why is there an Indian flag there? This is a fight we definitely don’t need to participate in. . “

During the sack of the Capitol, shocking images of a man walking away with the podium and gleefully waving at the camera went viral. He was seen wearing a cap with “Trump” written on it. While her action angered people, her name “Via Getty” caught attention.

The confusion started when a journalist shared the photo of this man and wrote ‘Via Getty’ in the caption. Basically, I was giving the photography credit to the Getty photography agency. “Through Getty, one of the rioters steals a Capitol podium,” wrote the journalist.
