Mumbai Indians became the second Indian Premier League franchise after Chennai Super Kings to win back-to-back titles on Tuesday with a five-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in Dubai. The five-time IPL champions took to Twitter to share a video in which their captain Rohit Sharma can be seen giving a speech to the squad inside the locker room, thanking everyone for their contribution throughout the season. In the video, Rohit can be heard thanking all the families for their sacrifice and thanking them for making sure the players stayed in the correct zone to play the game.
“A final thank you to our families who have been here with us making sure they sacrifice and are with us and making sure we are in the right zone to play the game. All the families have been brilliant. We had a great time together and that. It’s what a family means. We were literally a family, “Rohit said.
Rohit, after a series of low scores, took shape again in the crash of the top and broke a fluid half century.
Rohit scored a 68 of 51 balls in a shot that comprises five limits and four maximums.
Rohit’s hit helped the Mumbai Indians chase the 157-run goal with eight balls to spare to lift the IPL trophy for the fifth time.
Rohit Sharma had to be absent during a few games due to a hamstring injury during the league’s lucrative league stages.
