Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik took to Instagram on Wednesday to flaunt his new look and beat the “Break the Beard” challenge after being nominated by Mumbai Indians off-roader Kieron Pollard. “@ kieron.pollard55 Challenge accepted. On Tuesday, Pollard, following Hardik Pandya’s lead, took part in the beard-breaking challenge and nominated the KKR employer to take on the task.
While Pollard has contributed to the success of the Mumbai Indians this season a couple of times with bat and ball, Karthik has yet to make a notable contribution to KKR.
The KKR captain has scored just 37 runs in four games and 30 of those runs came in just one inning in this year’s IPL.
He’ll have a chance to turn things around later in the day when KKR take on a rejuvenated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

The Kolkata-based franchise, in its last game, was outmatched by Delhi Capitals and will have their short assignment against CSK, who thrashed Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets in their previous outing.
KKR are currently fourth in the points table and a win against CSK on Wednesday will take them to third place.
