The Mumbai Indians defeated the Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the 2020 Indian Premier League final at the Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday. With the victory, Mumbai secured its fifth IPL title. Indian batting legend and former Mumbai Indians hitter Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to congratulate the Mumbai Indians on their achievement and labeled his performance complete dominance. “What a win for the guys! Total domination from @mipaltan! Well done to the players and support staff who have picked up where they left off last year,” Tendulkar tweeted.

In the final, Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to hit.

New Zealand pacemaker Trent Boult gave the defending champions a dream start by eliminating Marcus Stoinis from the first installment of the summit clash.

Boult hit again on his next over and sent Ajinkya Rahane packing.

Jayant Yadav landed the big wicket from a fit Shikhar Dhawan to leave Delhi reeling at 22 for three.

Iyer and Rishabh Pant stabilized the boat with a 96-stroke support for the fourth port.

Pant scored his first half-century of the season, but soon put Hardik Pandya deep inside.

Iyer was undefeated at 65 to guide Delhi to 156-for-seven.

In the chase, Quinton de Kock gave MI a good start and Rohit Sharma showed intent on his approach and scored a fluent half century.

Ishan Kishan made a cameo at the end when Mumbai claimed his fifth IPL title that extends the record.
