NEW DELHI: Stating that people of all faiths have stuck together as long as it comes to the essence of India, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said that Indian Muslims are the most satisfied in the world.
He added that all kinds of intolerance and separatism are spread only by those whose self-interest is affected.
Citing that many Muslims fought in the army of King Maharana Pratap of Mewar against the Mughal Emperor Akbar, Bhagwat suggested that in the history of India, people of all religions came together whenever there was an attack on the culture of the country. “Most of the satisfied Muslims are only in India,” Bhagwat said, wondering if there is any example in the world where there is still a foreign religion there ruling the people of a country.
“Nowhere. It’s only in India,” he said in an interview to a Maharashtra-based Hindi magazine.
Unlike India, Pakistan did not grant rights to followers of other religions and was created as a separate country for Muslims. “Our Constitution did not say that only Hindus can stay here; from now on, only Hindus will be heard here; if you want to stay here, you must accept the superiority of Hindus. We create a space for them. This is the nature of our nation, and that inherent nature is called Hindu, “he said.
In elaborating his views, the head of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological mentor of the BJP ruler, said that Hindu has nothing to do with who is worshiped. Religion must connect, elevate, unite everyone in a single thread.
“Whenever devotion to India and its culture is awakened and a feeling of pride in ancestors arises, the distinctions between all religions disappear and people of all religions unite,” Bhagwat said.
Speaking about the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Bhagwat said that it is not intended for mere ritual purpose, the temple is a symbol of national values and character.
“The reality is that the temples were destroyed to crush the morals and values of the people of this country. That is why Hindu society has long wanted to rebuild the temples. Our lives were corrupted and we were humiliated by destroying the temple. of our ideal Shri Ram. We want to rebuild it, improve it and therefore this great temple is being built, “he said.
The ‘bhoomi pujan’ ceremony for the Ram temple in Ayodhya was held in August, after the Supreme Court verdict in the lawsuit for the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title paved the way for its construction.
