Three people from China, two men and one woman, were rescued by the Indian army in north Sikkim on Friday after they were lost. In an encouraging gesture, the soldiers, who “extended a helping hand”, also offered them food and warm clothing to protect themselves from the harsh climate in the area. The three Chinese nationals had been lost “in the Plateau area of northern Sikkim at an altitude of 17,500 feet,” an official statement said.

The images show a soldier carrying an oxygen cylinder helping the three people. Another image shows security personnel offering food to one of the men. Soldiers also helped people fix their car.

The incident comes days after the government said Chinese troops participated in a “provocative action” on the southern shore of Lake Pangong in eastern Ladakh last Saturday and again on Monday.
The new outbreak came months after clashes with Chinese troops in June in the Galwan Valley killed 20 Indian soldiers in action. Yesterday, the defense ministers of the two countries, Rajnath Singh and Wei Fenghi, held talks in Moscow, Russia.
“The two sides must continue their discussions, including through diplomatic and military channels, to ensure complete disconnection and de-escalation and the full restoration of peace and tranquility throughout LAC as soon as possible,” said the Ministry of Defense in a series of tweets on Saturday. .
