Narendra Modi also urged graduate students to focus on quality, never compromise, and make their innovations work on a large scale.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the country will ensure “ease of doing business” for its young people, while they must work to provide “ease of life” to people, particularly the poorest of the poor, through innovations.
Addressing the 51st annual IIT Delhi convocation via video conference, he said that the post-COVID-19 world will be very different and technology will play the biggest role in it.
“COVID-19 has taught the world that globalization is important but self-reliance is just as important,” said the Prime Minister.
“India is fully committed to providing its young people with ease of doing business so that young people through their innovation can make a difference in the lives of millions of people in the country,” Modi said, addressing graduate students from IIT Delhi.
“The country will make it easy for you to do business, but you do one thing, through your expertise, experience, talent and innovation … guarantee ease of life for the poorest of poor citizens,” he said.
Mr. Modi also urged graduate students to focus on quality, never compromise, and make their innovations work on a large scale.
“Your work will give our products worldwide recognition. Their efforts will lead to faster recognition of Indian products, ”Mr. Modi told the students, calling them the best brand ambassadors for the Indian brand.
“The nation has seen how technology can provide good government and reach the poor and needy in recent years,” he said.
“Technology has made last-mile service delivery efficient and reduced the scope of corruption,” said the Prime Minister.
