Legendary Australian wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchrist messaged Rishabh Pant after the latter made it a century in the fourth and final Test against England in Ahmedabad. Pant and Gilchrist are now the only wicketkeepers to score centuries of testing in England, Australia and India.

Pant’s superb hit led many on social media to compare him to Gilchrist. Speaking to host Star announcers after entries, Pant said: “You have to premeditate the setbacks, but if your luck suits you, you can take a chance.
“I get the license most of the time, but I have to assess the situation and face the game. I like to make the team win and if the crowd has fun with that, I’m happy. “
“If the bowlers are playing well, respect it and take the singles, and that was on my mind. I like to play the situation and I only see the ball and react, that is the USP (unique selling point) of my game ”, he said.
“The plan was just to build a partnership when I joined Rohit, that was all I had in mind. I was thinking of evaluating the field of play and then taking my shots, ”said Pant.
“The team’s plan was to get to 206, beyond England’s total, and then get as many runs as possible after that as a batting unit.”
