After experiencing a humiliating defeat in the Boxing Day event, the Australians are looking forward to a comeback against India in Sydney. The third match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is scheduled to begin on January 7 at the Sydney Cricket Ground as the hosts look for ways to counter the tourists.
Before the next Test Match, Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne declared that they must do something to be able to put pressure on India again. During the pre-match virtual press, Labuschagne suggested that the Australians should be fully disciplined before it is too late.
“They (the Indian bowlers) have certainly come up with a plan … and made sure that they are not really leaving the stumps and have a very heavy field on their legs. Obviously, lower your score rate because those shots you take to your legs go for one, not four.
“We need to be very disciplined and we also have to find ways to pressure them,” Labuschagne said at a virtual press conference.

Labuschagne, who is Australia’s leading race scorer in the ongoing Test with, has also commented on his team’s batting standards. He said Australians need to keep working and improving.
“There is definitely talk of rotating the strike and finding your limit option. (They are) the normal things that you talk about when facing a bowling attack, and where you can get a little bit of an advantage against a certain bowler at a certain point in the game, “Labuschagne said.
“They are the things that we always talk about and try to stay on top of, and we make sure that when we get there, we are brave enough to make those choices when they arise. It doesn’t have to be pretty, we have to keep working and finding a way, ”he added.
Despite missing some of their key players, the Indians recovered from the horror of Adelaide and won the second test by 8 wickets. Substitute captain Ajinkya Rahane led the team so brilliantly that even Umesh Yadav, who did not bowling in the second inning, did not affect the course of India’s victory.
