MELBOURNE: Indian fast pitcher Umesh Yadav limped off the field after sustaining an injury during the third day of Test 2 against Australia here on Monday.

Umesh, 33, appeared to have injured his knee while throwing his fourth over, which was the eighth of Australia’s second inning. He had fired starter Joe Burns with a peach from a delivery in just his second before.
In the midst of a hot streak, the bowler appeared to be in pain and immediately called for attention, after which he limped back to the locker room.

India is already losing the services of seasoned pacemakers Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma and the latest injury would add to the away team’s woes in the four-game test series.
