India vs Australia: ‘There is no advice for him, I hope he doesn’t run at all’ – cheeky comments from Australian starter Joe Burns on Prithvi Shaw – cricket

There was much talk about the poor form and flawed technique of the young opening hitter Prithvi Shaw during the 2020 Indian Premier League. The same criticism has continued since the Indian team traveled to Australia. In the first test, Shaw was fired for 0 and 4, and after a heartbreaking 8 wicket loss in Adelaide, cricket experts are questioning his place on the team.

If anyone can understand what Shaw is going through, it’s Australian starter Joe Burns. The right-handed hitter faced much criticism for his poor performance in the Warm-up game prior to the Pink Ball Test. With David Warner and Will Pucovski injured, Burns had to play the role of senior starter in the first test.

As he struggled in the first inning, coming out for 8, he went on to clock half a century in the second inning to help his team to an easy eight-wicket victory.

Burns was asked to give his counterpart Shaw some advice and jokingly said he would not give him one since he is on the opposition team.

“I wouldn’t give him any advice because I’m playing against him. I hope it doesn’t run at all. In fact, I don’t know in what form it has been. I haven’t been following him, ”Burns told the ANI news agency.

“Obviously he is a quality player if he plays for India. I could give advice at the end of the series, but not after the first game, “Burns added.

Speaking of his performance in the first Test, the hitter said he felt good after getting back into his rhythm.

“More than anything else, it was nice to get back on track. I just wanted to get the job done and have an amazing day for Australian cricket. We had also played well in the first inning, but we didn’t get any rewards, ”Burns said.

India and Australia will meet in the Boxing Day event at MCG starting this Saturday.
