Veteran starter Rohit Sharma, who joined the rest of his teammates in Melbourne on Wednesday, took to the networks with the New Year 2021. Sharma, who traveled to Australia after weeks of rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru, was in a harsh 14-day quarantine. That happened in a two-bedroom apartment in Sydney.
Rohit Sharma received a warm welcome from his teammates and support staff on Wednesday as he checked into the team’s hotel in Melbourne. The star hitter has finally started training outside and as seen in the video posted by ICC, he has hit the nets.
In the video, Sharma appears to be in good contact and that could be very positive for the Indian team, which has currently leveled the series 1-1 against Australia.

BCCI on Friday named Rohit Sharma as vice-captain in the last two test matches of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Sharma has replaced Cheteshwar Pujara as a backup for Ajinkya Rahane in the Test series. T Natarajan and Shardul Thakur were also added to the team for the last two tests.
The third test match in Sydney will begin on January 7 and the selection of Rohit Sharma in the starting lineup will depend on the evaluation of coach Ravi Shastri.
