Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi posted a tweet after India succumbed to an 8 wicket loss to Australia at the Adelaide Test on Saturday. The former all-rounder has supported archrival India to rebound in the rest of the Border Gavaskar Trophy matches.
After taking a practical 53-race lead, Virat Kohli & Co surrendered to the Australian attack led by Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. Resuming their 9-for-1 innings on the third day of the play, the Tourists were eliminated 36-for-9, which turned out to be their lowest score in the Trials.

While many experts in the game lashed out at India’s disappointing defeat, Afridi backed India for a strong comeback. He also praised Cummins and Hazlewood for their impeccable performances on the ball. Afridi also noted that the rest of the series won’t be easy for tourists without their best hitter and captain Kohli.
“Brilliant display of Cummins and Hazelwood today, I really enjoyed the best quality fast test bowling after a long time. Indian batting is still capable of counterattacking, but now it will be more difficult without Kohli, ”Afridi tweeted.
Here’s the post:
Australia’s duo, Hazlewood and Cummins, wreaked havoc in Adelaide on Saturday, defeating India within 20 overs of their innings. None of the Indian hitters, including captain Virat Kohli, were able to score in double digits.
The visitors managed to set a measly 90-run goal for the Australians to pursue. In response, Joe Burns, who has been struggling with his form, came in with an unbeaten 51 of 63 deliveries to guide his team to victory. With this this, Australia now leads the series 1-0.
