India vs Australia: ‘No one has the right to do it’: Pragyan Ojha criticizes trolls for attacking Virat Kohli’s personal life after Adelaide debacle – cricket

Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha has reacted to fans controlling Virat Kohli and his family for India’s lousy show at the Adelaide Test against Australia, saying that the behavior of the fans is completely unjustified. India was eliminated for its lowest test total of 36, as Australia comfortably won the match by eight wickets to take an early series lead 1-0.

However, soon after, social media users attacked Kohli for his decision to return to India. The trolls even targeted Kohli’s wife, actress Anushka Sharma, who will give birth to the couple’s first child. In reaction to the same, Ojha called the entire turn of events unfortunate and believes that no one has the right to attack a cricketer or his family on the personal front.

“We have to respect someone’s personal life. Whenever someone makes a decision, it is their decision. He (Virat Kohli) was very clear that he wants to be there (for the birth of his son). Your wife needs your support. And the message was sent to BCCI before the tour started, ”Ojha said on Sports Today.

“After losing the game, suddenly speaking ill of the captain or someone and dragging their families is very worrying. How can you drag someone’s family into all of this? Don’t drag your personal life to your professional one. These two things must be separated. “

It is not the first time Kohli and Anushka have been blamed for the performance of Indian or cricketers on the field. It all started in the 2015 World Cup semi-final in Australia, where India had lost the game and Kohli had scored 1 with the assistance of his then-partner Anushka. Since then Anushka has been unnecessarily watched for the poor performance of the Indian team.

Earlier this year England captain Joe Root missed a Test Match for England due to the birth of his son. Like New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who missed Test 2 against the West Indies for the same reason. Kohli’s reason is nothing new and just because India lost the match is not a good reason for people to target India’s captain, adds Ojha.

“It’s not like I want to go back to the middle of the series, I had received a call before. And the BCCI has legitimately given him that space. So now why (the questioning)? Just because we lost the game. Yes, we are all suffering, we are all upset that we lost the test match. But that doesn’t give us the right to do what they’re doing, or anyone who’s trolling, ”Ojha said.
